My moniker is nothing more than my initials with my middle name in the middle. My uncle calls me DScottD. Or goofball. It just depends.

My grandmother's proclivity for pink came in very handy on one occasion. She had an unset alexandrite which I craved, and she promised me I could have it when I turned 25 if I never got married, so when I turned 25 I claimed it. I took the bus back to New Orleans, boyfriend picked me up at the bus station and we went out for sandwiches, and I showed him the alexandrite, and we talked for a while, and then when I got in the car, I realized I did not have it. I went back into the restaurant, and the waiter had cleared the table. They let me go out back and fish through the dumpsters to look for it. I spent hours sifting through dumpsters, there were three, and found it, naturally, at the bottom of the third, but I knew I would eventually find it because it was wrapped in pink kleenex.
