Well, this is not a real alexandrite, either. Synthetic. I actually like it better. The real ones have a better green, like emerald or grass, but the red isn't good. This one has a raspberry red, and a grayish green. It is pretty, and very large, but not terribly valuable. I got a bigger one when she died, it was set in a gaudy gold setting. Way too gaudy to wear. Did I mention that she owned a bar and grill in Biloxi?

I like dichroic stones, too, I have a lot of moonstones and Labradorite.
