Ditchdigger, IMHO DELL has a nice OBV chart, which will support any upmove.

DD, I liked dell's chart pattern and fundamental backdrop (especially with gtw's great earnings report). It seemed a very low risk trade given that the Dow and DRG had failed to take out their baseline on Monday (possible failed H&S pattern) and the Nasdaq had failed to take out the lower trendline.

I would have bought MSFT but the air was a little thin up there at yesterdays close and it opened up big this morning, Dell opened up flat.

I plan on selling Dell in the next day or two.

Katz's take on the 4/8 year cycle

I agree we haven't seen the 8 year cycle bottom yet.

Also we had Bill Ohama's Titanic Indicator go off.
NYSE new lows exceed new highs within 7 days of a new high in the Dow or S&P and in the same period new highs under 25, with 5 consecutive lower closes.

This indicator call the july top, went off three times in 1990, went off twice in 1987 (one was in spring 87 and august 87)
Went off in 62, 66, 73 right at the tops.

It's not infallible, it went off in 1995.
