Dear Shareholders and Friends of SSP: Your company is now embarking on what will be its first full year of proactive marketplace presence and a year we anticipate will reward you for past patience and support. The following recap sets the stage for my optimism about fiscal year 1999 and focuses on the events and experiences that shaped our 1998 results. March 1998-SSP finds new markets and a new name for touch-access information system. The "touch access" information system was renamed "OASIS" for Occupational Automation & Safety Information System. March 1998-SSP to provide OASIS for world leader in surgical stapling at AORN (Association for Operating Room Nurses) annual meeting in Orlando. SSP announced a test marketing agreement with United States Surgical Corporation (USS) to demonstrate the OASIS touch-access information system at the worlds largest nurses conference. April 1998-SSP files for two more patents. Both filings involve broader protection for the company's information technology and existing devices. May 1998-OASIS earns praise at initial installation. The first hospital, Sarasota Memorial Hospital, to utilize the OASiS Touch-Access Information System reported enthusiastic acceptance by its employees and management. May 1998- OASiS Touch-Access Information System impresses toughest critics! At the APIC (Association of Professionals in Infection Control) annual meeting in San Diego, SSP's OASiS had a clear and decisive impact on Health Care professionals responsible for infection control. June 1998-SSP names new President & CEO. Frank M. Clark, former Johnson & Johnson officer and director joins SSP and is appointed to Corporate Board. "He will continue to direct the growth and success strategy of SURG as we consolidate our market niche" said G Michael Swor, M.D., Chairman and Founder. July 1998-New People and expansion for SURG. Frank M. Clark, President & CEO, announced the addition of Leann Lafko-Spofford and Mike Williams to positions as Marketing Director and Sales Director. August 1998- OASiS Touch-Access Information System goes world wide….Web! SSP announced it will use the Internet to power the all new OASIS Version 2.0. The system will be "web-centric" and use the internet as a delivery vehicle for instant information updates. September 1998- SURG files with SEC. The Company announced the filing of Form 10-SB with the SEC. Once effective, the company will be fully reporting under SEC guidelines providing investors with quarterly and annual financial data. October 1998-SSP and USS collaborate on new Touch-Access Information System for the O.R. Both companies announced plans to install OASiS Touch-Access Information System in a number of leading hospitals throughout the U.S. The kiosks, with proprietary software and hardware, provide instant access to product information and training for health care employees. October 1998-SSP tests VirtualTouch at ACS (American College of Surgeons) Annual Clinical Congress. Clinicians and practitioners can now view a product dimensionally by simple dragging a finger across the touch port screen. Provides product training in the OR 24 hours a day. November 1998-SSP executives respond to internet publishers alleged misconduct involving company's stock. The SEC's crackdown of companies dealing in online trading involves SSP Investor Relations firm. SSP relationship ended months before alleged misconduct. The officers of SSP believe in the long term prospects for the company….Frank Clark, President & CEO stated. November 1998-SSP announces VendorWatch for on-site tracking of hospital vendors. System will provide hospitals with information on company representatives and vendors with ready access to where representatives are, providing both companies and hospitals immediate access to technical representatives. December 1998-World renowned surgeon elected to Surg Board: ALTC goes virtual. Dr. William B. Saye regarded world wide as a pioneer in Laparoscopic surgery joined the SSP board and was named Medical Director for ALTC VirtualLabs. Dr. Saye has been instrumental in training over 15,000 surgeons world wide in various laparoscopic procedures. This presents a brief overview of what 1998 has involved but more accurately establishes the foundation for our 1999 sales projections of $1,021,000. Looking ahead to Year 2000 we anticipate sales of $8,029,000. In summary, there were a score of events this year that didn't make the headlines but all contributed to posturing SSP for dramatic growth. Appreciating the ever changing conditions in technology, we are confident that the plans and programs put in place will keep us on pace with market place demands.
