If anything, 3dfx is being even more quiet than ever. 3dfx made no mention, (and of course, neither did the anal'ysts) of either 32 bit color, 32 MB of ram, or much else (other than AGP 4x) for that matter.

The quiet period with STBI also makes this conference call alot less informative than it would otherwise be (in a very interesting time indeed). They certainly sounded upbeat about the merger, and the marketing plans for V3. The only real "suprise" was that V3 (chips) would ship in 1Q, which was really no surprise at all, since announcing V3 for Q2 probably had more to do with potential lost sales than timeline.

Apparently .18 process is available from TSMC at this time, but V3 is obviously geared for .25, and this shouldn't really matter for now.

Of course, no one asked, and nothing was mentioned about Rampage, or any other future plans. One wonders why these analysts even bother to show up at these CC's.

It's very hard to predict what will happen in the coming year. 3dfx has some interesting products (LCD/flat panel support, and possible other co-operative ventures with STBI), which we won't hear about for some time.

I'm becoming very curious about 3dfx's new "packaging". I wonder if they'll package the cards inside some stuffed two headed orangutans <g> :) (j/k, I hope)
