>>TCBA, You posted: CPQ announces spin off of AltaVista worth billions, rises 5.2 percent in heavy trading. Details to follow on February 16.
What day does Dell report? Eckhard tries so hard to upstage Michael.<<

I thought someone was playing a joke when I saw this earlier. Dell reports its earnings either on the 16th or the 17th and you mean to say that asshole is going to try and upstage Dell again with an announcement about the spin off.?? What is that knucklehead going to do next??The shareholders of CPQ should dump that stock and buy Dell.

Hi, <<What day does Dell report? Eckhard tries so hard to upstage Michael.>>

I believe Dell reports on February 17. I hope you realize my previous post was a put-on!

However, I do wonder if it is possible CPQ did the AV thing today, the day before their earnings report, out of fear that Dell would retaliate today for what they did back in November, ie, staging a big press conference the day before Dell's scheduled earnings announcement to announce their "new" internet strategy.

I heard a CPQ commercial on TV tonight. At first I thought it was a Dell ad - had some of the same "buzz" words as the old ad Dell used last year ("Let us build one for you", etc.) I really couldn't believe it.
