yea, business is as simple as wishing to make it so. Barnes has it's work cut out for it over the next couple of years to catch up, let alone surpass Amazon in on-line sales. It doesn't make sense, IMO to think they could somehow catch them if anti-trust was out of the way. Barnes/Bertelsmann plus Ingram Book is a formidable competitor but it will take a time for them to build momentum. Also, Barnes is limiting themselves mostly to books and music sales. I don't think that Amazon's biggest threat is one or two major competitors but the nature of on-line sales and competition in general and how that will effect profit margins.
