Guru,

>>Are you a U.S. citizen?<<

Born and mostly raised, yes.

>> When you buy Softbank shares, do you pay in yen?<<

Yes, I pay in yen, by converting dollars at the spot rate.

>> You seem quite familiar with Masayoshi Son,<<

It's funny, but you can find anything and everything about Son-san in the Japanese press, but you can find very little in English (I spent 12 years in Japan and can read and write Nihongo). I have spent time with his older brother (no connection to Softbank), so I know a little more than most. And I do know that Masayoshi is being advised by some maverick ex-Nomura dudes (very clever).

>> including his Korean roots<<

Third generation.

>> (Masayoshi still sounds Japanese, not Korean) to me.

"Masayoshi" is a Japanese name. Almost all Koreans residing in Japan adopt some sort of Japanese name, but the surname (Son) is difficult (though not impossible) to change.

>>Are you being straight with me?<<

Would I lie to you?

Aloha,

Da Zipstah

PS Plenty of parallels can be drawn between the current Internet run-up and the late-eighties bubble in Japanese stocks. I will not EVEN attempt to draw them. But, they are very REAL... I wuz there...
