>> Gloomy dialogs ...

Doesn't sound like DI is hanging; it sounds like it's trying
to tell you something but there's a video setting and/or
problem somewhere so you can't read the dialog box. (Datek
had black text on a black background for a while -- talk
about exciting trading !). This maybe something simple
like "Press ESC When Ready" or "Press ENTER When You're
Sick Of My Screwing Around."

Again, welcome to the world of Wintel. "Conventional"
memory refers to the first 684K memory addresses that
can be addressed in "real" mode by I386-class processors
and relatives (486, Pentium, PII, etc).

DOS applications and an unfortunate quantity of Win 95/98
ones stake out claims on this space. No amount of
RAM will affect that.

Still, I doubt that's the problem here. Sounds like there's
a problem in video settings or maybe the DOS driver is mad
at the AGP card. Typically, text-mode utilities put up
multicolored dialog boxes to prove how sophisticated the
programmers are. PQ, as I recall, is no exception, so
I'd guess DI isn't either.

Is there a DOS MGA200 utility on the CD Rom? Try fiddling with
the text-mode settings (80x25 resolution, which is
80 charsx25 rows).

Spot's diagnosis sounds right. Let us know if your DI problems persist (eom).
