Actually it's a pretty interesting company, and I say this mainly for the incredible growth potential I believe it still has outside of the US.

I am an American who has lived in Japan for several years, work for an American financial firm in Tokyo, and my wife is Japanese. While there are already over 2,000 McDonald's in Japan, most are concentrated in large cities like Tokyo, Yokohama, and Osaka.

I believe there is still huge growth potential in this country (and most other countries outside of the US for that matter). Most of the future growth I see is tied to a generational issue. All young Japanese know McDonald's but my wife's grandmother likely doesn't even know what McDonald's is and my mother-in-law and father-in-law have never even been in a McDonald's. Yet they live in a city in southern Japan of nearly one million people. I think I've seen two McDonald's in the area. I can envision a hundred new McDonald's in this area alone over the next 15-20 years doing well.
