Glenn,

So, does this mean I could sell 400 shares of AMZN tomorrow and maintain that 300 share short as long as I bought at least 200 shares back to go long by the close.

Sorry for the questions Glenn but this could give me some leverage I did not know was possible. i.e. It theory could I go long 1000 in AMZN, short 900, and then sell the 1000 long for a (albeit temporary) short of 900 shares?

I would not do this on AMZN but there is a stock I would love to get this kind of leverage on because it would be more economical then buying the puts on it.

Thanks in advance.
