AT,

Very good points. CPQ management is doing exactly what they should do and that is maximize assets to the fullest. A spin off of AV will accomplish that without CPQ changing direction or any other drastic change. I agree with you that as the big companies (Dell, etc) get more and more into the "net" we will see many changes. Most of the little guys will go away or be bought. But Dell just uses it as another way to sell its merchandise. Does it sell more because of the net, I doubt it, just net instead of phone. Whereas CPQ is going into more invovled business, through AV, in the net. What happens to the Etailers when Walmart decides to open web pages? I would be willing to bet a nickel that we would be shocked at how many books/tapes/cd that they sell now in the store. How will Amazon compete?

It is a changing world and I plan on making some money in it.

Steve Davis

I think Yahoo uses the Alta Vista engine now too.

Actually, I believe Yahoo uses INKT's engine.
