The other scenario is that this is the first increment in a long string of payments to a portal JUST TO GET OUR LOGO UP. Obviously much less bullish. CKFR does not have the financial firepower to be forking over the boxcar "slotting fees" that some retailers/service providers are paying. This scenario also says to the market that CKFR really doesn't bring a lot to the table vis a vis E-commerce, and therefore must get in line with all the others to flush money down the portals.

That is worst case...and we'd be at $6 and deserve it.

What CheckFree has developed and continues to expand is a totally unique service...one which is tremendiously difficult to duplicate. Witness the largest Software Company on Earth, Largest Card processor on Earth, and one of the Largest Banks on Earth just try to do, what it is that CheckFree has already done. It's taking them YEARS!

From here on out this e-Bill thing should be a revenue sharing thing. Like rent for a good store location, to Banks, Portals and Such...but not a hostage situation. Because they can't do it without ya.

This is why I think it's purely for plumbing/connections/etc.

Charlie, I couldn't find any mentioning that CF name will be directly used on portal/s. Looks like they will be selling portals exactly the same "plumbing" services as they selling banks.
If this is the case, banks can't blame CF in competition with them. They can blame themselve only for being too slow.
