DG, Here's an old post from Yahoo that seems written for you! by: Chuzzelwit 7427 of 8677
semi pro- I feel a little stupid talking to a box of rocks but the quality of the naysayers posts, like your own and Althrow's, has gone downhill. It appears the smart shorts have already covered and we therefore don't hear from them anymore. It's dumb to short Valence and dumb not to have covered already. If you shorted at 7 and it goes to 20 you have a 13 dollar loss. Ouch! No matter how hard you try its not likely you can worry many shareholders enough to sell you their stock. Better just cover before it really gets away from you.

"Vlnc is up 2% since 6/29/98. That is underperformance by almost 27% with the Nasdaq..."

MIKL is DOWN 26%, and that's underperformance by 53%. This was your big pick of the last 2 1/2 years during the greatest bull market in history. Better get out that dart board for yourself or try the lottery.

DG - you are letting this whole discussion go to your head - please try to get a grip!
Sure, FMK and some others are wild optimists on VLNC, but to pick a (low) day/period to complain about the "performance" of a stock as volatile as VLNC is less than meaningless. Lots of us have made LOTS of money w VLNC this year, and the bulls (including me) look forward to what we hope and believe will be a very tity profit this next year as the li-poly market takes off.
You do us all a favor to present well reasoned arguments to be cautious. This stock is risky, but that is exactly why the upside is so appealing - and why we are invested here.
FMK and others have summarized repeatedly the substantial reasons to be invested in VLNC, and I still like the odds - alot. That doesn't mean we bulls are unconscious of the legit observations of the bears here, but on balance we still expect to do well.
So come on DG, lighten up - your posts the last couple days are slipping towards the shrill. Most of us are (semi)adults - lets leave the sandbox fights and name-calling off this thread PLEASE.
Best of investing to all =- Bob
