No, I dont think Dell will split at earnings...based on my research (although others on the thread may be more enlightened) Dell usually spends a few weeks above 90...and really above 100...before the question gets raised/answered...I think, though, by summer we will either see on or get an announcement of one...

I think there are enough shares authorized for a 3-for-2 (which I dont recall Dell doing, or if so, rarely)...but I'm not sure if we have enough for a 2-for-1...I certainly could be wrong here...

Last split was really not too long ago...it would be awfully soon..

2) I'm less concerned with the futures (as long as they are near being flat or up, and NOT DOWN HEAVY)...my reason: I've seen the futures turn on a dime.....especially NASDAQ.....When the futures are flat...I dont know how good an indication that is of the market opening....certainly, before 5:00 AM..they are really unreliable....

I am more concerned here with the Europe/Asia markets...so far, a real solid day...great conditions to go higher in U.S....no Brazil fear today......The Real fell so hard primarily on fear...if that goes, the real will lounge a bit, and the markets will be off to the races...

Now, if only Compaq could come thru here....(Perhaps I differ from some on the thread, but I think it will help Dell today if CPQ hits 11B in rev and .41 or so in their estimates)...Cheers...
