This is great news, especially since I also own QWST :-)
Qwest is a great story stock. It was started by someone in the railroad industry, who sold the trains and kept the rights of way along the tracks, where they are now laying down high-speed fiber optic networks across the country. They sell enough bandwidth to pay for the operation, and lay excess bandwidth to grow for the future. AOL and Qwest is a great alliance, and bit by bit we see AOL answering the bandwidth challenge.

On a related note, the CEO of Aware was on CNBC this morning. They have come up with "splitterless DSL" technology, which allows DSL into the home without the need for a modem box outside. Compaq is already providing computers with DSL modems.
