They probably stayed at Jumers, a pretty classy place that attracted a lot of honeymooners. Didn't you ever go bar hopping in Peoria in your college days? A little wilder than Normal and had strippers.

Veeck said when he owned the Browns the grounds keeper was his most important player. He also had a vertically challenged person as a pinch hitter. When he would go into a crouch the strike zone was only 2" high.
