My style is only to average down on long-term positions, for which you either have a good p&f chart working for you, or an understanding of the fundamentals, etc., and to never average down an options position.

Re: MRVC - I'd average down... Your downside from here is 6. Your upside is 20+. Seems like a pretty good risk/reward ratio to me.

However, if this earnings report does not show positive signs of recovery by next quarter then it may languish in the low teens for a while.
