Profit takers are doing their thing now.

After this wash out I expect it to surpass current day's high. The BIG ones will wait till the initial rush subsides before they begin their buying.

It sure isn't the same as owning shares in the new company. Look what happened when ATT spun off Lucent. Lucent went through the roof.
Before that, when ATT owned Lucent, ATT stock didn't do a whole lot.
Compaq isn't looking out for the shareholders. Apparently they think they can have it all by keeping the majority of AV shares and hoping it goes through the roof on the IPO. The stock is just up a buck. If they were spinning off AV to the shareholders, CPQ stock would be up 10 bucks.
