Transmission,
T is still the FORCE ! My favorite quote: <..."According to a Yankee Group survey conducted in 1998 of technologically advanced families, 81 percent of those households would prefer to get some or all of their communications services from a single company."">

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 27, 1999-- In an industry first, AT&T today announced a communications package that breaks down the pricing categories - wireless, wireline, home phone, pay phone - currently defining how consumers communicate.

The communications package, called AT&T Personal Network, offers different types of calling at the same low rate on a single
bill so people can use them interchangeably.

''This unprecedented offer sweeps away complexity and provides a communications solution tailored to the way people live
today,'' said John D. Zeglis, president of AT&T and CEO of AT&T consumer services. ''By paying the same low per-minute
rate for their communications services, consumers can now focus on what is important to them - reaching the people they want
and the information they need. That is what 'any distance' communication is all about.

''Communication helps hold people's lives together. With its clear pricing, unified bill, and single number for customer care,
AT&T Personal Network takes all the hassle out of staying in touch.''

AT&T Personal Network is intended for people who rely on multiple communications services to manage their busy, complex
lives. According to a Yankee Group survey conducted in 1998 of technologically advanced families, 81 percent of those
households would prefer to get some or all of their communications services from a single company.

Like AT&T Digital One Rate(SM), the company's breakthrough wireless offer, AT&T Personal Network makes communication simple. Where AT&T Digital One Rate targets road warriors and heavy users of wireless services, AT&T Personal Network is especially beneficial to people whose busy lives keep them in a smaller geographical area than road
warriors, but who still rely on multiple communications services, including wireless, to stay connected.

In fact, according to AT&T research, more than 80 percent of all wireless customers make most or all of their calls within their
wireless home area.

It is with these people in mind that the company has created AT&T Personal Network, which, for a monthly fee of just $29.99,
includes the same low rate of 10 cents a minute on all local and domestic long distance digital wireless calls consumers make
from their wireless home area. This offer also includes voicemail with text messaging and caller ID at no additional cost.

Consumers also pay the same 10 cents a minute on their AT&T wireline calls:

- Long distance calls made from home within the United States and to Canada, the U.K., and border cities in Mexico.

- Domestic calls made with an AT&T calling card; and - Domestic calls made to an AT&T personal 800 number.

A television ad campaign, developed by FCB Leber Katz Partners, breaks during the Super Bowl. A print campaign will roll
out beginning Monday, Feb. 1.

AT&T Personal Network will be available beginning Jan. 31. Consumers can order it at that time by calling
1-800-4ATT-NOW or by visiting any AT&T store. Additional information is available on AT&T's website, www.att.com.
