OT - Waiting to come back...

In my opinion, Ciena is a buy at lower than current levels. I don't believe the current ALA or NT buy-out rumors. I think Ciena needs to get its act together more in the next few quarters before they are a candidate for purchase, which I believe will ultimately happen.

The Tellabs CEO indicated on CNBC very recently (within the last few days) that passing on the Ciena purchase only effected time to market for Tellabs on a DWDM solution. That to me says that Tellabs has something in the R&D shop that may give Ciena a run for its money. That could cause a near term downward pressure on Ciena and I'd buy it, with free cash, around $16 and sell on pops from buy-out rumors, which will follow this stock until a deal is actually done.

But that is just my 2 cents - I have no position in CIEN at this time!

Later, (-8 Dennis 8-)

**OT Cien- I agree with Dennis...

I thought to buy them in January, but got nervous and missed a nice run-up. They have significant competition from LU and NT, which makes me think about the politics of purchases vs. product merits.

One thing I will say is CIEN takes care of the little shareholder very well. I still get press releases emailed to me as they go to the wire services. I'm presently out, having made quick profits on Ciena bounces. While missing the big runs, I also missed some big crashes. I expect to continue the same strategy... but next time I may only sell half and then hold in terror.
