thanks mark, for the good lesson. another way to use options is to hedge a big winner that you don't want to take gains on by buying a put. i agree with whoever posted about the cost (spreads and commissions) in establishing option positions. i've been checking the ERP cos. constantly for options opportunities but the premiums remain sky high even though the prices are way down.
