I think that there is a perception problem with commodities in general and oil specifically. Especially while the stock market continues it's soaring bull run. With the Nasdaq up 50% in less then 4 months, it's easy to see why few want to put money in this industry. If deflation continues it's course, more liquidity will probably be pumped into the system. As long as this continues, I believe the patch will be a difficult long term holding.

One other point, the dollar seems to be strengthening. This will place a bit more downward pressure on commodities if the trend continues.
