The simple answer is they can't. The channels are in a tough squeeze between white box and direct sales from the big boys. But it's not just CPQ doing this, IBM and HP will have to go that way too, unless they plan to completely exit that segment of the business. The channel will have to change its mode of doing business to accommodate. Some are doing that successfully.
