Everybodys other brother knew that Compaq was going to use the MediaGX months before. All you had to do is read the Compaq and Cyrix threads.

Last I heard is that Dell, Gateway, Compaq etc. have all sampled the K7 and are very impressed. Now, all they need is a few hundred thousand K7s to sell...

That "rumor" was going hot and heavy on the Cyrix thread in Nov/Dec 1996 before the actual Compaq release in Feb. 1997.
