MMV, your right to form and express an opinion on matters of which you know little has never been at issue. What is at issue is the wisdom of you doing so. Only a fool would pay attention to me if I opined on engineering, brain surgery, or Americas Cup yacht racing.

Those who know me on this thread know that I have been very critical of certain aspects of corporate accounting. In fact, I would guess that a fair number (although certainly not all) have been persuaded by my arguments concerning write-offs following mergers, and the use of employee stock options as a replacement for salaries. So your inference about investor apathy and neglect of these issues is probably untrue.

The difference between us is that I questioned these practices based on a position of knowledge. You came on the thread with some comment about CSCO's CFO ought to be worried. Perhaps if you had posed the issue in terms of "Should CSCO shareholders be concerned about these issues?" you would have met with a different reception.
