ISLD is definitely used by MMs. Today I saw BRUT being used for head fakes on XCIT. The MMs love those ECNs in part because they can't be SOESed. RickF

I can't answer your question about market makers and ECN's because I left the business just prior to advent of ECN's. I am just learning how to utilize ECN's but I can assure you that market makers do use head fakes and will use whatever means available to deploy them. I also agree with Rick's post that several market makers will collude in a "gang fake". I was actually able to prove this a couple of times while working for the NASD. Don't hold my past employment against me. Ken
