The investor is rumored (depending on who you believe) to be either UNEWY or TWX. My bet would be on the former, since UNEWY owns PR Newswire, which is involved in several joint ventures with VDAT already.

I haven't heard the National Market rumor. I think this is inevitable but IMO it won't happen until VDAT extinguishs the 1 million outstanding warrants. Those become callable, if my math is right, on Feb. 1 on 30 days notice. NASDAQ had VDAT on a delisting watch last fall (as reported in VDAT's 10-K) due to cash flow and tangible net worth issues; the warrants ($5 million) and an investor (25% = maybe $15-20 million?) would help that immensely but I would expect that NASDAQ might want to see several months of stability before they'd consider an upgrade.
