Hi Mike. No, I don't think you can just stick a new MSM3000 in your existing Q800 or QCP2700 models. As for what this lil puppy will actually do for us, 86K data rates, smaller form factors ala Thinphone, 10 hour talk times, and 8 day stand-by's sound pretty good to me. [Not to mention making us wealthy as Q sells some 30 million of the suckers this year] Of course it will take a little while for carriers and WK to take full advantage. On board vegemite dispenser can't be too far off.

I also have a Q1900 doorstop. Must be lucky because never had any of the plastics or connector problems others described in over a year now. See a pdQ in my future as part of the "research" budget and maybe a Thinphone for the sailboat ["Ah, its required by the Coast Guard, Honey - honest"].

Will you be at the meeting? Golf?

Regards,
Jim
