(CORRECTED)-RESEARCH ALERT-Amazon.com
estimate cut

In LOS ANGELES story headlined ''RESEARCH ALERT - Amazon.com (Nasdaq:AMZN
- news) estimate raised,'' please read in first paragraph ...lowered his earnings estimates..., instead of ...raised his estimates...
(corrects direction of change). Please make headline conform.

Please read in second paragraph ... lowered his full-year 1999 estimate to a loss of $0.93 a share from a loss of $0.62 ...,
instead of ...raised his full-year 1999 earnings estimate to a loss of $0.62 a share from a loss of $0.93... (corrects direction of
change and figures).

Please read in third paragraph ...lowered year 2000 estimate to a loss of $0.22 a share from nil..., instead of ... raised year
2000 estimate to a profit $0.22 a share from nil... (BancBoston corrects new and old estimates).

A corrected story follows.

LOS ANGELES, Jan 27 (Reuters) - BancBoston Robertson Stephens analyst Keith Benjamin lowered his estimates for online
retailer Amazon.com Inc. following the company's report of stronger-than-expected fourth quarter 1998 earnings.

-- lowered his full-year 1999 estimate to a loss of $0.93 a share from a loss of $0.62.

-- lowered year 2000 estimate to a loss of $0.22 a share from nil. Company is expected to spend heavily on infrastructure.

-- said company's fourth quarter report of a loss of $0.14 a share was better than his estimate of a loss of $0.20.

-- says January business trends remain strong, ''pointing to opportunity for sequential revenue growth in the first quarter.''

-- company reported fourth quarter sales of about $253 million, up from $66 million in the year-ago quarter.

-- said key for Amazon.com remains its ability to build product fulfillment capabilities in more categories.

-- said company continues to have ''extremely impressive brand with considerable revenue growth potential.''
