Good line on telecom

We keep hearing about how good the job market is these days. It's even
better for telecommunications specialists, according to Telephony magazine.
One executive search firm, Korn/Ferry International, reported an 8 percent
growth in filling executive positions for advanced technology from 1997 to
1998. Demand for telecom jobs accounted for 53 percent of that total
demand, growing by 29 percent over 1997. The demand is bumping up
salaries, too, Telephony reported. Telecom executives can expect a base
salary of $325,000, leading advanced technology companies in executive
compensation.
