That's a good point, except on the days I lose a lot. As much as I try to stay dispassionate, the old virility goes with the 'ups and downs' of the market at times. Poet makes a good point about the stimulation. The job is a little stale at times, and the making/losing of real money (as opposed to the monthly salary) provides real emotional charge. I made 2 1/2 month's salary today (most of it paper profit), and it's hard to focus on building web sites for oceanographic real time models when there's that kind of action happening.
