NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--January 26, 1998--Satelites Mexicanos, S.A. de C.V. (SatMex), the company which owns and operates Mexico's satellite operations, announced today that it has entered into an agreement to sell $320 million of 10-1/8% senior notes due 2004 in an offering exempt from registration.

The notes have not been registered under the Securities Act of 1933 and may not be offered or sold in the United States absent registration or an applicable exemption from registration requirements of the Securities Act and applicable state securities laws.
