TMAC: Yes, I have shorted against the box. Recommend you do some tax research on this subject to make yourself aware of any ramifications. But I am also net short stocks as well for trades. Rather go to bed short than long at this time with trades. I am not a daytrader. I chose those stocks because I have a good feel for their trading patterns. I have nothing against those stocks. Brinker believes they have more upside but he has warned against specific stock risk in this sector. He advised one caller to put tax considerations aside with stocks in this sector to reduce exposure. I have seen many opportunities to go long for investment or trading recently but have sat on my hands for about a month and all I have done is sell issues to take profits or short.
