TORONTO, Jan. 28 /CNW/ - SmartSales Inc., (Alberta Exch: SA) a company
specializing in leading desktop software for corporate sales forces, announced
today the appointment of Donald Parker as President and Chief Executive
Officer.
Mr. Parker brings to SmartSales a broad depth of experience as a highly
successful executive in corporate sales and software distribution. Mr. Parker
will be responsible for implementing the recently announced full commercial
roll-out of all SmartSales software products, forging strategic partnerships,
and for managing the rapidly expanding network of SmartSales value-added
resellers across North America, Europe and Asia.
Mr. Parker's career in corporate development and sales management
includes positions as Vice-President, Minicom Data Corporation, now part of
the Quorum group of companies; and as General Manager of Wall Data Canada,
where Mr. Parker was responsible for all field operations and sales management
for the company's connectivity products and ''web enabling'' software targeted
at Fortune 500 firms.
In making the announcement, Mr. Peter D'Cruz, Chairman and founder of
SmartSales, said: ''This appointment successfully completes the Company's
