Thanks for the info & thoughts.

Both the XOI and the XNG indices have taken a healthy pop off their end-of-January lows. The XOI went up about 5% last week, mostly on Friday.

I wonder what is going on.

Might the markets be speculating that King Hussein's death will heighten political instability in the Near East? Or maybe they figured all the bad news was out and now that the big boys have announced the shitty 4th quarter earnings the institutions are stepping back up to the plate.

Whatever the reason, if this rally of the big oil & gas companies continues it should bode well for the little guys.
