ACE*COMM(R) Receives Another Follow-On Order From WinStar for Call Mediation Software

GAITHERSBURG, Md., Jan. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- ACE*COMM Corporation (Nasdaq: ACEC) announced today that WinStar Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: WCII) will continue expansion of its back office processing capabilities by further increasing ACE*COMM's tasking under the current contract between the Companies. The new order, valued at approximately $900,000, expands and modifies the Company's mediation software to meet WinStar's requirements. A previous follow-on order announced in June for engineering, processing services and a call mediation system, added approximately $1.1 million to the base contract, bringing the to-date value of the contract to almost $3.5 million.

ACE*COMM will continue to support and upgrade its billing data acquisition software designed to interface with, and aggregate information from WinStar's expanding multi-services network and leased lines, including call detail collection and aggregation from 24 of the largest U.S. markets totaling over 30 million records per month. Call records from the WinStar network are collected via remote polling to a central point processor using a Message Collection System (MCS) tailored to meet WinStar requirements. The MCS was modified from the MCS contained in ACE*COMM's Net*Plus(R) and Pro*Vision product lines.

"WinStar continues to grow its service base, which translates into increased challenges for ACE*COMM," said George T. Jimenez, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company. "We are committed to increasing our product performance for WinStar, as they expand into one of the largest and most successful integrated services carries in the U.S."
