Give back $20 on a great run.

Pat, I figure IBM has been on a heck of a tear. They have given up 10% from 200 (roughly.)

It's a buy and hold supertanker so long as Lou is Captain, is how I see it.

As market remains strong there are good chances to retest highs. As IBM stocks have a big price it's not surprisingly to have a big swing. On my mind it's some early to have serious correction. Will hope.

It looks to me like a great buying opportunity too. There is a split coming up and the earnings are growing just fine. The new products keep on rolling out. Ecommerce business for IBM promises to be a very big opportunity. This is a candidate for the corner stone of any good portfolio, large or small.

On the downside, there is good support at 170, going back to last year. On the upside, even a snapback to the moving average takes it to the 188 level. I don't think there is any fundamentals that would keep it from making new highs and going to the target 220 to 230 pre-split range.

........ BUY !!!!!!!!!!!!!! (j/k, one should use extreme caution when purchasing or selling any financial instrument.. and should understand what his tolerance for risk is...)

also... this is my personal opinion... but usually when IBM goes up.. it comes down and then fakes out a few less than sharp individuals... and then with stealth re-seeks previous highs...

i think that it used to take between one to two months for this to happen in the past.... (i could be WRONG or MISINFORMED about everything i just posted... who knows...)
