e-mail about the alerts & scanning report I did.. marketgems.com

Two questions were similar if you note the values for the low and high end of the MACD (FIGURE V: Scanning the Database according to Pre-determined Criteria in Real-Time)and moving average were not what you are used to in your other charting programs. They are NOT set by the number of days but rather they are calculated by dividing 2 by the number of days you are interested in +1. For instance I like to use the MACD 6/19/9 so the values according to NAQ's Real Trader are now .2857, .1000 and .2000 so if you want a stock that is coming from the negative MACD below 0 to just above the 0 line or nearly above you would put the values as -0.02 and the high to 0.02 (above the 0 line) or you could put it at 0 or 0.01. I like to put values in to get in just before the actual breakout but rather when it looks imminent.

This is the RT Trader software that you can find on the www.naq.com website. It is very reasonable and makes for a great back up for my townshend analytics. In many cases I use this INSTEAD of Townshend.

e-mail SCOC, CPQ SCOC which was on both watch list and newsletter was up 17% after its earnings report that's after it was up over 8% on Tuesday on Anticipation. CPQ was down 3.5% and dropped below 48 which was my cut off point. CPQ P/E for '99 according to earnings estimates is 24 ...DELL P/E is at 95...so CPQ has plenty of upside and can be a nice 1-2 month hold. I would try to get in around 48 and hold for a possible 60. But I'm still more bullish on the next few days for the internets. CPQ will not fly as much as an ELNK, MSPG or GCTY in one day.

If you were to enter CPQ I would note that the stochastics are okay even had a crossover it price is above the 12 day moving average. In essence you have a retreat in the midst of an uptrend. It had 790 big blocks going through on Wednesday. The uptrend will most likely continue but there is no reason to hold through a loss of 3% especially after a morning profit. I would follow this tomorrow for possible reentry as long as it doesnt fall below 46 which is now support.
