Robert,

With the very good news out of TER and the continued improvement in all sectors of the Semi business it appears that Cohu should be turning the corner. As to whether they will have a surprise by beating the earnings estimates tomorrow I think that is not nearly as important as whether the bookings begin to improve. Cohu needs to begin showing bookings above the trend of the test equipment sector which was quite frankly not that good during the 4th quarter.

Without TERs strong performance the remainder of the sector must of done very poorly. Hopefully TER as the most substantial test equipment maker showing a great performance and Cohu as the most substantial test equipment handler will assist them in taking a good share of the market in the 4th quarter of 1998. We will find out tomorrow. Irrespective, it appears that most of Cohus customers are doing much better and will soon begin making capacity expansions which will definitely aid Cohu. I hope you are right on an unexpected profit for the 4th quarter but even if they are around the analyst estimates but show very good bookings they should then begin to regain some of the lost ground to TERs share price increase.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow.
