re: Talk about dead money, I was beginning to think this was LSI's specialty :-).

It hasn't been much fun holding LSI for the past couple years. This could be the turnaround, but who knows. I don't think any stock valuation has much do do with fundamentals. It's not just internet stocks. Most semi stocks, LSI included, look terrible compared to a year ago, yet the valuations are higher. People buy stocks because they're going up. The only companies that aren't getting bought are the companies that have stunk up the joint and issued some surprise to the downside.

It isn't just the internet stocks. Can anyone really justify most market caps? How about MSFT of $450 Billion. They're about $20 billion in revenue. Or Cisco at $163 Billion. Think about that for a minute. If Microsoft grows as it has been, in 5 years it will have doubled 4 more times, at which point the market cap would be about $7.2 trillion. More than the national debt. One more double after that, and Bill Gates could cash out and pay off the national debt himself. It could be his gift to the American consumer he loves so much.
