David,

Your posts have been very good and contain a lot of material and Im impressed with your ability to reduce things down to their lowest possible denominator. The 3600 is a SCSI JBOD with an external FC-SCSI external RAID adapter? Is that the same as saying that all EMC sells is a SCSI JBOD with an external FC-SCSI external RAID or external SCSI adapter with some extra cache? Perhaps in its simplest terms that is the case. Perhaps someone who reallly understands this technology can expand on what these differant products are. My understanding is that vendors like MTIC, EMC, DGN are selling RAID products that have RAID controllers that they attach SCSI or FC drives to. Are you saying that all they are doing is attaching an external RAID adapter like that from CPQ, DELL, or other PC type manufacturers? How do these solutions differ from what your company provides? Who are your suppliers and are they good trading candidates if there is nothing special here?

If this so typical technology, who else is developing and selling it? What is or who is in the market place in terms of competing vendors?
Who is truly developing technology and who is simply reselling?

Thanks,

Nick
