...and I watched my bank teller deposit this profit in my bank account.

Booking profits never made nobody go broke. But that's seldom
the whole story...

I am solidly long on IFMX - between 5 and 6. And I think I am
going to stay long for some more time. For core DBMS competency,
Informix has a pretty formidable product. And, with more
transactions *and* interactions occurring on the web, Informix
is going to get a few more design wins as concerns about its
viability fade away and folks evaluate the product on features.

So, why weed out the winners ? Short term there will be some
profit taking. It's already happening (dip to 11 3/8, now 12 1/8).
Buy more ;-)

Regards
Dinesh

Good decision four weeks ago. Bad one today. One for two. But I guess that's better then the other "one for two" -- bad decision first, good one later (getting out).

The point is that today's bad decision will deprive you of much of the benefit of your earlier good decision. (In the long run, a potential gain unrealized is equivalent to a loss.)

Congratulations on your double. Commiserations on your poor decision.
