WLA options activity yesterday:

Elsewhere on the AMEX, traders noted heavy selling of April 65 puts on Warner Lambert Co. (NYSE:WLA - news) after the drug company said it would buy biotech concern Agouron Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Nasdaq:AGPH - news), known for its AIDS treatment Viracept.

''Put selling is usually a bullish transaction,'' Schwartz said. ''It's an attractive way to own the stock below the market.''

Warner Lambert stock climbed 3-5/8 to 72-1/8.
