Techhunter, Accurate numbers for the number of shares outstanding on a specific date may be found in the most recent proxy (Def 14a), and sometimes, in the quarterly reports (10Qs). One should work with fully diluted numbers which include all in the money outstanding options. Frequently, sites may not include the impact of options, and may report average number of shares outstanding. Depending upon how you use the data, it may be sufficiently accurate for many purposes. But it usually pays to validate precisely what the data actually is. ... and Edgar is one of the best sites to do that. Ian
