Government Agencies Behind the Curve on Y2K Issue

CHARLOTTE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 28, 1999--According to
Computer World, only 23% of adults believe the Y2K Bug will affect
them. OK, get ready for this.

Representative Stephen Horn, chairman of the House Subcommittee
on Government Management, Information, and Technology, rated the
government's Y2K progress D on a scale of A through F.

According to Representative Horn nearly one-third of
mission-critical systems will not meet the President's March 1999
deadline for being Year 2000 compliant. According to Watch 2K's
preliminary survey responses, the private sector is doing a little
better.

issue and presents any information that it finds to the consumer free

These companies are aggressively dealing with the Y2K issue and
either are currently in compliance or will be compliant by the new
millenium. However, other companies may not have addressed this issue.
