Re Dell leaps:
As a result of our discussion, I came to realize I had kept the
2000 17 1/2 strike leaps too long as they could only appreciate
about as much as the stock, whereas calls at higher strike can appreciate at 3 or 4 times the rate of the stock.
So I sold 3 of the Leaps at $73 1/2 today and bought 3 of the Aug 100 calls at $14. This leaves me $17,850 cash left over so I can
could go along with Greg to Australia and demonstrates the awesome power of a leap on a rising stock.
The total cost of the 3 leaps on July 23, 1997 was $2190.
But I don't have a visa except to Mexico so Greg will have to go alone. We will miss him.
Is that where he's going?
