They probably registered to sell a bit because they thought good news was coming which would send the price much higher.

But you are right. They simply filed to be able to sell if they so desired. They are under no obligation to sell.

I think everyone ( well, most anyway ) know that a 144 does not mean a sell, but gives the owner of restricted shares the right to sell. Either way, that has nothing to do with the increase in the outstanding shares. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Actually, I'm sure that someone will :-)
