Howard; It might be the Holy Grail!
It's a good question - sometimes we can
have too high expectations of a single event.

Change the question a bit and ask what would
materially improve the share price? One answer
is anything that would cause analysts to go back
to their offices and write recommendations with
12 month earnings expectations of $70-100.

To go beyond analysts though and have a direct
effect on the interested public, one or more of
the following.

1. An impressive announcement of a deal with Time Warner or another.
2. A statement in principle that shareholders would be allowed
to buy AV IPO shares at the IPO price, whatever it turns out
to be.
3. Positive clarificaton of the tax issues.
4. Statements and clarifications that the main business is
growing, hopefully supported by independent market surveys.
5. Assurances that the 1st Quarter is going well and that the YK2
issue will be beneficial, or at least not negative.
6. A definite time-table for the completion of the restructuring
after the DEC acquistion including that all lay-offs will be
done this quarter.
7. Positive report on the growth of direct sales from CPQ's own
internet site.
8. Announcement of major new products.
