The market is supposed to be a forecasting mechanism, looking into the future. The time span of this look seems to be quite variable, for unknown reasons. Before too long the market will be looking at RMBS 1999 earnings. If it doesn't go up at that point it will mean that these earnings won't be too good, or that maybe market participants have just lost interest. Of course I don't like losing money either, but on a market day like today the pain is eased by my other holdings. My RMBS holdings aren't large, but at the right price I might be a buyer if I can find the answer to the two questions I raised. I would sell regardless of my entry price if I thought the basic fundamentals had changed. Buy price should have no bearing on sell decisions (at least in a tax free account).
If I buy more I would look for good relative strength first.
